African-American museum one of the world’s best
I have been fortunate to visit some of the world’s best museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Reina Sofia in Madrid, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and the Louvre in Paris. As a charter donor (albeit at the very low end), I had anxiously awaited the September opening of the newest Smithsonian addition, the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
The museum is everything I thought it would be. There are high-profile pieces to see, such as Emmett Till’s casket, Nat Turner’s Bible, Harriet Tubman’s shawl, Chuck Berry’s red Cadillac, Muhammad Ali’s gloves and more.
